M1s at East Coast Park

Many M1s were present, coming in groups - some early some late. I (jonk) happened to come at nearly 3pm, and met up with some of them (my OG, RapunzelWins and some other folks) at Macca. Skating outside, I could see the others, typically in anatomy or orientation groups.

The rain had just stopped, but threatened to (and did) rain again for about half an hour.

Heeding the solemn advice of Dr. Martin Lee, most of us hid in the shelter of Macs.

I am thus glad to feature photographs of living people.

After the skies cleared, we all went to rent bikes and skates and tandem bikes (check out the two couples who did) and went on our way. Some went here, others went there. From Macs, some went as far as CableSki360 and Bedok Jetty. Those who came earlier, like Teck Tee & Co, Jian Li & Co, Paullock & Co, were seen along the way.

As the day drew to a close, most of us went for dinner. Where I was, the people with me went to Parkway Parade to makan. Others went on for sleepovers, and a group drove to Changi Village for gustatory delights.

Wish you all were there!

PS: Those who have events/outings being planned do post it up on the blog or Class mailing list so we can garner more support and attendance, and more opportunities to interact with classmates.

ECP outing!

Hello! My maiden post! haha. Anyway, today at ECP was really fun! thanks jianli for organising it. There were quite a lot of pple there! I went blading, for like the first time since a long time ago. Last time I bladed was in primary school I think. It was really fun, but quite traumatic and painful sometimes. haha. I fell quite unglamly several times. haha. But Cel and Daniel were extremely nice in helping me all the way to the jetty and back. haha. so paiseh! hope everyone had fun and yes we should have more class outings together! yes anyway, this blog hasn't been all that active. Feel free to post anything and everything k? The voyeurs in each of us definitely would love to read small anecdotes from each other's lives! Happy holidays everyone!

Email from Prof Raj..

Hi, Jonathan

Good thing you’ve got pretty good shots showing the whole class. I have just picked up my processed colour negatives and will be scanning them (have to enlist the services of Dr.Martin Lee who has the appropriate scanner) tomorrow or Monday. My hope is that the camera set up was OK and that the picture is sharp. Will let you know as soon as I know the outcome.
Dr.Martin Lee also strongly advises anyone to avoid open spaces in the kind of weather we encountered. Perhaps we could all bear this in mind the next time. Good to have photos of living people!

Cheers for now
Rajendran

their's not to reason why, / their's but to do and die

"Forward, the M1 Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the two-hundred and fifty.
- adapted from "The Charge of the Light Brigade"
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

hoping for a low mortality rate.

Scooters?

I was wondering why there was a 'scooters' tag under Aaron's post..

Well anyway, here's one that will be appropriate:

Of Xinglish and Sivaism..

Xinglish as defined by the quintessential remaks of LXR (we shall keep her identity as just that for now)..
Yesterday was the inaugural XR Day. We shall present you a few of her quotables.

"Yay! The book is going to out soon!"
- on learning that the next instalment of Harry Potter is releasing soon.

"You are bad english!"
- 'nuff said.

"How many foods are there left?"
- on her dinner propositions.

"I want mee goreng but no soup!"
- not realising that mee goreng does not have soup.

(in a prank SMS) "I love you! Tonight want to come into my bed."
- to Siva using Thammy's phone

Sivaism entails the making of run-on remarks or making puns on words with the things your friends say, and classicly preceeds the famous "tong-chang", as characerised by Siva himself. Aside from that, anything stupid that Siva says can be takaen to be a Sivaism.

"In the absence of 5-alpha-reductase, testosterone will be converted to breast."
- don't worry. we still have 4 days to get it right.

Happie bday keefe!!!!

On 3rd April ‘07
In the midst of Moore and Guyton,
Our Aladdin chief
LAI YUSHENG KEEFE
Turned twenty-seven minus seven =)

Everyone thought him really nice
And in making decisions, very wise.
And also most honest,
Although not quite modest,
With most definitely a fetish for fries.

He had thirty-three vertebra
And looked like William Hung from afar.
But it’s just too bad
(And we’ll admit, kinda sad)
That from near, actually also lar…

So anyway just wanna wish this doctor-to-be:
A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY from we!
For Pros all the best,
Good luck beat the rest,
Levator labii superioris alaeque nasi!

Courtesy of aladdins (esp grace if i'm not wrong). :p

(sorrie, 2 days late in posting this up. =D)
